Judith S. Leland, J.D.
Judith S. Leland was appointed as a Supplemental Security Income judge with the Social Security Administration in 1974. In that capacity, she presided over numerous Social Security Disability and SSI hearings in California.
Judith S. Leland has been an active member of the National Organization of Social Security Claimants' Representatives (NOSSCR), having served as district representative and having been a speaker at NOSSCR conventions. She was a presenting panel member at the CEB course, "Handling the Social Security Case." She has served as chairperson of the Social Security Sections of the Orange County Bar Association and the Los Angeles County Bar Association, and as a member of the Attorney-Client Relations Committee of the Los Angeles County Bar Association. Ms. Leland has handled over 2,000 Social Security Disability cases at all adjudicatory levels, including the U.S. Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Maria G. Galindo, J.D.
Maria G. Galindo was born and raised in the San Fernando Valley. She obtained a double major in political science and French at the University of California, Berkeley. Ms. Galindo also is fluent in Spanish. She received her law degree from Southwestern University School of Law in Los Angeles.
Prior to joining the law offices of Judith S. Leland, Ms. Galindo was a law clerk for Bet Tzedek Legal Services, a nonprofit organization providing free legal services. While at Bet Tzedek, she worked on Social Security issues and advised and represented clients. In her free time, Ms. Galindo actively participates in a number of volunteer activities. Ms Galindo has been a strong and effective advocate for Social Security and SSI clients.
Joan Hall, J.D.
Joan Hall has represented Social Security Disability clients for over twenty years. She has had success at all levels of representation, including initial applications, Administrative Law Judge hearings, Appeals Council appeals and appeals to Federal District Court.
Ms. Hall is a staunch advocate of the rights of disabled Social Security claimants and this is evidenced by the large percentage of cases that she has won at all levels. She has a keen understanding of the issues involved in the many different disability cases and is a tenacious litigator.
Bill Lawrence, AS
Bill Lawrence is our paralegal, and was born and raised in Wayne, New Jersey. He received an Associate in Science degree, graduating with honors, from El Camino College with a major in legal assistance. He also earned an American Bar Association approved Certificate of Competence as a legal assistant at El Camino College.
Mr. Lawrence has been working for the law offices of Judith S. Leland since 1994. His fortes are assisting clients in the application process and developing the medical record. He also has extensive experience dealing with the Social Security Administration, expediting payment of approved claims.
